Plans, directs, educates, staffs, monitors, evaluates, budgets and care for all other clinical operations and project logistics related to the OGRN; liaison between staff and physicians.
Manages all aspects of the pre-award grant/contract application process including budget development, coordination with the Office of Sponsored Projects and funding agencies, funding opportunity searches for departmental investigators, and some post-award support such as project set-up and post award overview.
Manages all aspects of laboratory operations including biorepository inventory and tracking, shipping and receiving of samples, laboratory certifications and audits, purchasing and maintenance of lab equipment, biohazard and chemical waste disposal, barcode design and printing, budgeting of lab supplies and purchasing recommendations, training of staff on sample collection and processing, development of laboratory manual of procedures (MOP) for various protocols, and regulation of laboratory safety. In addition to this, manages the development and design of REDCap databases.
Provides administrative and clerical support to administration, faculty, and researchers to ensure the efficient operation of OGRN. Responsible for ordering laboratory and office supplies, processing study participant compensation, booking travel arrangements and reconciling expense reports. Also managing employee time cards and tracking researcher's certifications to ensure that the compliance requirements of the University of Utah are being meet.
